which tracks the spirits industry globally, the major brands of
UBSpD have grown at 12 percent way above global majors which have
either degrown or grown marginally. "
The Division, which commands 36 percent of the Indian spirits
market, has been adding over three million cases annually to its
volumes. It was ranked the seventh largest spirits company in the
world last year. Over the last three years, the Division has added
four new millionaire brands to its portfolio - No.1 McDowell's Rum,
Old Cask Rum, Kerala Malted Whisky and Honeybee Brandy. White spirits
as a category has also grown to a million cases in this period.
Drinks International noted that, "The UBSpD is focussed clearly
on the consumers. Many of its brands are relatively young and making
fast growth." The publication has declared Kerala Malted Whisky
the world's fastest growing spirits brand with growth of 95
percent.
This whisky has also been ranked the fourth largest non-Scotch whisky
and the ninth largest selling whisky in the world.
Honeybee Brandy is the latest millionaire brand from the
Division. According to Drinks International, " This new millionaire
brand is showing consistent growth and is a market leader in the
north, east and western India."
No.1 McDowell's Whisky, has recorded sales of close to
four million cases this year. It has been ranked the third largest
selling non-Scotch whisky and the eighth largest selling whisky
in the world.
Bagpiper Whisky has been ranked the second largest non-Scotch
whisky and the eighth largest selling whisky in the world.
No.1 McDowell's Celebration Rum is the third fastest growing
brand in the world and is ranked No5 among rums globally. It sold
close to 2 million cases this year.
No.1 McDowell's Brandy has retained its ranking as the
fourth largest selling brandy in the world.
Old Cask Rum also retained its status as the sixth largest
selling rum in the world.
No.1 McDowell's Centenary Whisky has crossed 1,30,000 cases
in a very short time and is establishing a strong presence.
Signature Whisky after its repositioning last year has
gained fresh ground and sold close to 70,000 cases.
White Spirits as a category continues to sell over a million cases.
While Blue Riband Gin, the largest selling gin in the country
achieved 5 lac cases, Romanov Vodka is the country's best-selling
Vodka, selling over 1.15 lac cases.
