Over the years, since the early 1940's, the Indian Derby has grown to occupy an important place in the Indian racing Calendar.
What's more it's become a glamour event unequalled in Mumbai's hectic social circles.
Today, up to 40,000 people gather annually at the Mahalaxmi racecourse on the first Sunday each February.
